Learn: Small Acts of Kindness

Now more than ever it's time to realize that you don't need a reason to help people and be kind. Let's remember to be kind to one another. After all, when this is all over, all that will really matter is how we treated each other. Being a kind human is sometimes challenging, but it's important to know that you don't need a reason to be kind to people. I am dedicating myself to inspire everyone to bring kindness to the forefront. Kindness is always a choice. There are some ideas of ways to be kind:

  • Smile and make someone's day a little sweeter.

  • Take the time to listen to someone.

  • Offer a hug or embrace.

  • Send out a kind message, email or card.

  • Give someone a genuine compliment.

  • Encourage them when they feel unmotivated.

  • Give your time to them.

  • Give something meaningful to someone: bring flowers, loan a book, etc.

  • Give a stranger a compliment.

  • Write letters to soldiers.

  • Participate in fundraiser.

  • Hold open the doors for people.

  • Donate your old clothes.

  • Help an elderly person with their groceries.

  • Do a favor without asking for anything in return.

  • Learn to say hello in different languages to different people.

  • Help a child or older person cross the street.

  • Hold the elevator for someone.

  • Write a kind or encouraging message on a napkin.

  • Spread some encouragement online.

  • Give up your seat on the bus to another person.

  • Be kind to yourself!
